The Thomas Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony hosted a public Bible examination focused exclusively on the Book of Revelation at the Global Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. Two hundred participants, comprising 100 Shincheonji Church members and 100 local pastors, engaged in the two-hour test featuring 100 questions designed to evaluate scriptural understanding. According to the Shincheonji Uganda Church, the event was not competitive but intended to differentiate orthodoxy from heresy based on the words of Revelation, aligning with Chairman Lee Man-hee's vision that the Book of Revelation should serve as the standard of faith.
Chairman Lee has frequently emphasized that Revelation 22:18–19 underscores the importance of such tests in discerning true doctrine from false teachings. One participating pastor reflected on the experience, stating, "I've always considered Revelation to be a compass for faith, but I'm ashamed that I never properly learned it. I'll study again to better understand prophecy and fulfillment." A Shincheonji Church member observed that many pastors struggled with the questions and could not answer according to scripture, whereas ordinary believers in Shincheonji could easily grasp Revelation's concepts, hoping this knowledge would catalyze change across Uganda's Christian community.
Following the exam, seven churches signed memoranda of understanding to collaborate with the Shincheonji Uganda Church, which also reported that several denominations have recently decided to officially affiliate with Shincheonji Church. A representative of the Shincheonji Uganda Church explained, "Knowing the reality of Revelation is the first step to leading believers in truth. We hope more pastors will learn the Word and grow together." The church's growth has been remarkable since its establishment in 2015 with 27 members, now boasting over 8,400 members, as detailed in content from https://www.tourkorea.org.
