Shincheonji Church of Jesus has expressed deep concern regarding speculative reports alleging political interference, specifically claims of "mass entry into the People Power Party," "interference in the Presidential election," and "interference in the General election." The church states unequivocally that it has never instructed members to join any political party or engage in political activities, asserting that systematic election interference is neither structurally possible nor factually true. According to the church, individual political activity is a fundamental constitutional right, and the organization does not track members' political choices or maintain party membership lists.
Despite these denials, certain politicians and media outlets continue to allege that Shincheonji Church of Jesus is systematically interfering in elections in collusion with specific parties. The church argues this behavior amplifies unverified speculation and effectively predetermines investigation outcomes before proper verification. In response, Shincheonji Church of Jesus officially demands that the Joint Investigation Headquarters conduct a fair verification process through several specific measures.
First, the church calls for a simultaneous joint inquiry cross-referencing Shincheonji membership lists with political party rosters, including those of the Democratic Party and People Power Party. Shincheonji states its willingness to provide membership lists with member consent, emphasizing that the investigation must not target a specific party alone but must be comprehensive as instructed by the President. Second, if any individuals are confirmed as registered party members, the Headquarters must investigate their joining circumstances and whether systemic instruction occurred, while objectively verifying participation in major intra-party elections like presidential or leadership primaries.
Third, the church demands that if claims persist about receiving special favors through political intervention, specific details and evidence must be clearly presented. The church notes that alleged political collusion cannot explain the current reality where it faces obstacles using purchased facilities as religious sites despite following legal processes. Fourth, Shincheonji insists the Headquarters must investigate potential collusion between politics and religion across all religious groups—including Protestant, Buddhist, and Catholic denominations—using the exact same methods applied to Shincheonji Church of Jesus. The church strongly demands clarification through fair joint investigation spanning both ruling and opposition parties rather than suspicion targeting specific groups.
