REMSleep Holdings Inc. announced the passing of founder Thomas Wood and the appointment of Jeffrey Marshall as Chief Executive Officer, with the company positioning itself for continued growth and commercialization of its sleep apnea treatment technology. Wood, who founded REMSleep and served as Chairman and CEO, passed away on February 26, 2026, after dedicating his career to developing better solutions for sleep apnea patients, beginning with his first U.S. patent for a nasal air interface in 1981 and ultimately receiving 26 patents for CPAP interface components. His work culminated in the formation of REMSleep Holdings Inc. and the development of the DeltaWave Nasal Pillow System, which has achieved FDA 510(k) clearance and PDAC coding approval enabling Medicare reimbursement.
Anita Michaels, who has been elected Chairman of the Board, stated that Wood was a visionary and patient advocate who spent years raising funding to build DeltaWave and complete the FDA clearance process. Under Wood's leadership, REMSleep achieved significant regulatory and commercial milestones including FDA clearance, Medicare reimbursement approval, buildout of manufacturing and distribution infrastructure, and positioning for commercial launch. Wood had worked alongside his sister Anita Michaels, who served as COO, and incoming CEO Jeff Marshall to establish the people, systems, and strategy for a seamless leadership transition, understanding that building a company means creating one that doesn't depend entirely on any one person.
The Board of Directors has been reconstituted with Anita Michaels elected as Chairman, bringing deep understanding of REMSleep's history, technology, and mission as Wood's sister, COO, and now majority shareholder. Jeffrey Marshall has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Director, bringing extensive industry experience in sales, marketing, business development, and commercial strategy to lead REMSleep's next phase of growth, having served as a strategy consultant to the company since September 2025. Alexander Johnson has been appointed as Director, bringing expertise in corporate restructuring, capital markets, and public company compliance. Marshall stated that this transition represents a pivotal moment for REMSleep, with the company now focused on executing the commercial opportunity created by Wood's foundation of FDA clearance, Medicare approval, and differentiated product development.
The DeltaWave Nasal Pillow System is now commercially available as the flagship product, representing the first in what management envisions as a broader portfolio of solutions built on Wood's patented technologies. Beyond sleep apnea, Wood's original vision extended to applying the same engineering principles to help patients with other chronic respiratory and neurological diseases, which is now part of the company's strategic roadmap. Anita Michaels emphasized that while Wood's passing represents a profound loss, his work continues through the company's responsibility to shareholders, sleep apnea patients, and his memory, with REMSleep well-positioned to deliver on the promise of DeltaWave technology and develop the pipeline of products Wood envisioned.
