Dr. Catherine A. Oleksiw Expands Leadership Coaching and Consulting to Help Professionals Realize Their Potential

Dr. Catherine A. Oleksiw has built a career on a simple but powerful belief: every person has a gift. That belief has guided her through roles as an executive coach, educator, consultant, and academic leader. Now, as she prepares for her next chapter, she aims to expand her work with organizations, leaders, and professionals who know they are capable of more but may not yet know what that next step looks like.

Dr. Oleksiw is the founder of Measured Transitions LLC, where she works with organizations on leadership, organizational change, performance, and evaluation. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Measurement and Evaluation from Columbia University and has spent the past six years in academic leadership at The Chicago School. Her nonlinear career path has taught her that relationships matter and that people are the greatest resource we have.

Her approach begins with creating what she calls a safe space. But safe does not mean easy. It means fostering an environment where someone can ask a difficult question, admit they don't know something, be challenged, and still know they are respected. From there comes the stretch—moving beyond the familiar by questioning assumptions, taking thoughtful risks, and accepting greater responsibility. Catherine isn't interested in turning people into someone else; she wants them to become more comfortable with who they already are and more willing to use what they already have.

She helps the people who help the people. When leaders become stronger, organizations become stronger, and when organizations become stronger, they can serve more people. That ripple effect inspires her work. It also drives her commitment to nonprofit organizations, where mission-driven leaders often face unique challenges in balancing purpose and performance.

Her philosophy combines dreams with structure. She believes in possibilities and human potential, but she also believes in asking what is actually working, what is changing, and whether good intentions are producing meaningful results. This combination has followed her through management consulting, dissertation advising, teaching, research, and performance evaluation.

Looking ahead, Dr. Oleksiw hopes to broaden her reach through leadership coaching, keynote speaking, and conversations with organizations thinking seriously about trust, resilience, purpose, authenticity, and psychological safety. The goal isn't simply to become louder; it is to reach farther.

For Catherine, success has never been measured by applause. It has always been measured by the lives changed after the conversation. Sometimes a former student tells her, “I wouldn't be where I am today if it hadn't been for you.” Those moments remind her why she does this work. By expanding her coaching, consulting, and speaking, she aims to help more people recognize the gifts they already have, believe those gifts matter, and have the courage to share them with the world.
