The Exit Planning Institute® (EPI) Twin Cities Metro Area Chapter will host its annual Business Owner Forum on October 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Midland Hills Country Club, 2001 Fulham Street, Roseville, MN 55113. The event, titled "Exit Readiness by Design Preparing for the Inevitable: Aligning Business, Personal & Financial Preparedness," brings together business owners and advisors to explore proactive alignment of business strengths, personal goals, and financial security.
The forum's importance lies in addressing a critical gap in exit planning: many business owners are unprepared for the complex interplay between their company's value, their personal aspirations, and their financial future. By focusing on strengthening value drivers, reducing risk exposure, navigating succession realities, and coordinating advisors, the event aims to equip owners with the tools to maximize business value and minimize regret during transitions. For advisors, it offers insights into facilitating more effective exit conversations with clients.
"Our forum is designed to encourage conversations between business owners and exit planning advisors on how to align business, personal and financial goals to ensure exit readiness," said Todd Krough, CEPA®, President of EPI Twin Cities Metro Area. "The agenda was designed so that owners and advisors will better understand how to work together to strengthen enterprise value, mitigate owner risk, and align transition planning with long-term personal and financial goals."
The implications of this event extend beyond the immediate networking and educational opportunities. As the largest transfer of business wealth in history looms—with millions of baby boomer-owned businesses expected to change hands in the coming decade—the need for coordinated, holistic exit planning has never been greater. Poorly planned transitions can destroy value, leave owners financially vulnerable, and disrupt employees and communities. By fostering collaboration between owners and a multidisciplinary team of advisors, EPI aims to mitigate these risks and promote smoother, more successful exits.
Exit planning professionals, including financial advisors and business consultants, will gain insight into guiding more effective exit conversations with business owner clients. Business owner attendees will gain clarity on how to maximize business value and minimize regret when planning for their eventual business transitions.
